ॐ A bit more about Janine

“Je me souviens” is the French-Canadian motto meaning I remember… May I remember where I come from… May I remember the history of my ancestors… May I remember all the wounds of humanity… May I remember Who I Am… The Light of God!

I remember an early April morning in 1989 sitting in the Findhorn Meditation room with Eileen Caddy, one of the 3 founders of this exceptional spiritual community in Scotland and a personal friend for already 4 years… Only the two of us… It is the last day of a “Psyche and Soul” conference…

A gift from a friend of both of us and the culmination of a 4-year intensive study with a special woman seer in Montreal… One question is in my mind: "What is my direction, my work?”
Huge white letters appeared in the blue sky of my mind’s eye:

WORLD PEACE

I held my breath for a long time… Eileen moved behind me… We went out quietly…

That same night, I was blessed with another clear vision involving the energies of the North and the South, the West and the East coming together in the center, creating an amazing spark in the heart… I felt the Oneness… I was the Oneness…
And a voice said:

“The first chakra is as divine as the seventh… I AM the 4 faces of God… I AM the 4 winds coming from the 4 faces of God.”

I woke up…

All through the years, these words have sustained my work… dedicating it to help myself and others to remember this state of Oneness…TURYA…

So… a few months after this experience I started setting up Earth Day 1990 Canada in Victoria, B.C. but the Universe had other plans for me… At the end of 1989, spirit pulled me to Costa Rica where I still reside. Early on I started teaching Kripalu Yoga, sharing all my knowledge in the holistic field and networking locally and internationally… I knew from the beginning that part of my work was to hold a space… I did and still do…

I remember wanting to be an astronaut and explore outer space at 14… even managing to enter a national contest called “The Young Astronauts” and being one of the 7 finalists… Quite a feat for a young French-Canadian teen emerging from the last village on the map up in the northwest of the province…

I remember my first long journey away from home at 16… going across Canada and up to the Beaufort Sea, with twenty other youngsters…my first cultural shock… I got so enthralled with discovering our Earth and its inhabitants that some years later, tour operating business became my profession for 25 years…

I remember my first quantum leap in consciousness, at 18, while reading my first yoga book “Jnana Yoga” by Swami Vivekananda…I got hooked for life to spiritual books… but I also remember devouring my first Carlos Castaneda book at 22, waiting eagerly for each new publication… hoping that a Don Juan would show up in my life… while I kept roaming different parts of the world… My passion for mysticism and magic got intertwined and could never be separated…

I remember meeting my first “teacher” at 32… in my own city… and starting my first deep emotional and spiritual incursion… getting intensely absorbed by the inner world… with myriads of blissful moments interspersed by some dark nights of the Soul along the way…

I remember stumbling into my first spontaneous dip into some cellular memory work at 39… becoming fascinated with the Soul Surrender work I initiated then and have been practicing for the last 16 years with amazing results… From wanting to be an astronaut and explore outer space… I ended up exploring inner space… so…

Could I call myself a SOULNAUT?
